Meet the Artist Show Deadline

Hi,

Monday February 16th is the last day to sign up for the Meet the Artist Show, so if you’re interested and have not contacted me or Deborah at the Studio, please do so ASAP. We will not take

Any sign ups after Monday. We have 31 artists signed up so far for the show, which is great and 53 miniatures which is absolutely fantastic. If you are going to contribute a miniature, please contact

Me with the size, so I can allow the room. I’ve attached the flier that Erin Holbrook made for us, so if you can please print it and distribute them to you friends, family, etc. I also left some at the

Studio if you do not have a printed. It is very important to get the fliers to as many people as possible, so we’ll have a great turnout. Also, be sure to push the miniature show, because our guild

Members have been very generous with their donations and I’d like to see all the work in the drawing. If you don’t know how the miniature show works, each piece of art has the name of the artist

And a number, so when someone buys a ticket, it goes in that artwork’s slot for a drawing. If it doesn’t get any tickets, the art will be put aside to sell at the Studio as a continued fundraiser.

Richard Pedrelli photographed some of the miniatures, so have a separate flier for that show. Contact me if you want me to email it to you, since it’s a longer file and I don’t want to send it out

In a mass email. We couldn’t get all the miniatures on the flier, but we got a nice variety. I’m also going to put it in the paper next week along with an article about the show and run another

Article the following week about the Meet the Artist show. One article ran on Thursday and it’s in the community calendar here and in other counties. I’m sending out over 50 fliers to people

That I know and ones that signed our guest book, plus I sent them to our sponsors, the Currahee Club and other businesses. So, I’m doing my part, now it’s your turn.

Sandra Smith is in charge of the refreshments, so she could use some help keeping it refreshed during the Friday night reception and Saturday. Please let me know if you can help. We will also

Need some help selling the tickets for the miniature show. Reece, my son, has volunteered to play his guitar on Friday night, so tips are appreciated since we don’t pay him to play and he’s a

College boy, so he’s always broke.

If you’re not going to participate in the show, please stop by and support the guild. You could also buy tickets for the fundraiser, especially since the work is exceptional and I can’t imagine not

Wanting to win any of the art that’s available. I know that it’s going to cost me a small fortune, because I plan on buying a lot of tickets and so does my family.

Talk to you soon,

Gail Watson, president

Currahee Artists’ Guild
